SOFI Number for Privileged Persons

Gepubliceerd: 22 november 2011 Laatste wijziging: 22 november 2011

Privileged persons employed at an embassy, consulate or international organisation can submit a written request for a SOFI number if they decide not to register with their municipality. They should take up contact with:

Inland Revenue Department / Haaglanden

Central Desk / International Fiscal Treatment (CB/IFB)
P.O. Box 30509
2500 GM The Hague
Telephone: 088 - 152 28 11
E-mail: Haaglanden.CB_IFB@belastingdienst.nl

One adult member of the family may on behalf of the other family members write a letter but must include a copy of each member’s passport and a copy of their pass issued by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The request should include the application for a SOFI number, home address and telephone number where you can be contacted.

Please note that if you apply for a SOFI number and decide later to also register with your municipality, you must inform the municipality of your SOFI number upon registration. Otherwise you will be issued two different tax numbers, which can cause problems.

For general tax questions:

Privileged persons can contact the Central Desk / International Fiscal Treatment at tel: 088 - 152 26 38.

You can also visit the Inland Revenue Department (Belastingdienst) in person at:

Prinsenhof
Prinses Beatrixlaan 512
2595 BL The Hague
