Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI) will soon open a new European head office in The Hague.
As of December the state oil company of Kuwait and parent company of Q8 will rent 1,716 square metres in the Haagsche Zwan office building on the Schenkkade in The Hague. The office will initially have about 40 international employees, but this number could increase over time.
KPI controls the world’s third largest oil reserve and has refineries in Rotterdam and Italy. With approximately 200 petrol stations, Q8 has a market share of around 7% in the Netherlands.
The municipality is pleased with Q8's decision to locate its European headquarters in The Hague. Deputy Mayor Henk Kool (Economic Affairs) said, ‘We are delighted with this oil giant's choice of The Hague. The arrival of Q8 means the existing energy cluster in The Hague region will be reinforced. But it also confirms the attractiveness of The Hague as a location for international headquarters.’
During the acquisition process the Municipality of The Hague worked closely with the national and regional investment agencies the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) and the WestHolland Foreign Investment Agency (WFIA).
More information about the company can be found at www.q8.com.
