Request crowd control barriers for street parties

Are you organising a neighbourhood or street party? Make sure that the activities take place on (wide) pavements, schoolyards, green areas or playgrounds as far as possible. Are you organising a street party in the public space? Then you must ensure the area is closed off using crowd control barriers. You can borrow them free of charge.

The police and other emergency services advise the city districts on safety at festivities in public spaces. Organisers must arrange for the area to be fenced off using crowd control barriers. You can borrow the crowd control barriers from the Department of City Management.

If you are not using the public space, it is enough to use barrier tape. You can purchase this yourself.

Will you collect the crowd control barriers yourself? Then you can take them with you right away. Do you want to have the crowd control barriers delivered and collected? Discuss with the Department of City Management how much time is needed.

Are you collecting the crowd control barriers and bringing them back yourself? Then you can borrow them free of charge.

The Street Cleaning department of the Department of City Management can deliver and collect the crowd control barriers for you. The location does not matter as long as it is within the city limits of The Hague. The fees are as follows:

  • for up to 10 crowd control barriers you pay € 330 (excluding sales tax)
  • for up to 20 crowd control barriers you pay € 659 (excluding sales tax)

Have you lost the borrowed crowd control barriers? Then you must pay € 221 (excluding sales tax) for each barrier lost. Even if you collected the barriers yourself, you will still have to pay € 221 (excluding sales tax) for each lost barrier.

Collecting yourself

You can then collect the crowd control barriers from:
