Dutch voters abroad: Request a replacement postal voting slip

Are you registered as a Dutch voter abroad? Then you will receive your voting documents by post. You can use these documents to vote by post at a postal voting office. Did you not receive your postal voting slip or did you lose it? If so, request a replacement postal voting slip on this page.

What is a postal voting slip?

A postal voting slip is a voter pass for Dutch voters abroad. You need this postal voting slip in order to cast a postal vote. This is the standard voting method for Dutch voters abroad. A postal voting slip will only be sent by post. You can also choose to vote with a voter card or by proxy.

Your postal voting slip has been sent by post as of 23 December 2020. The municipality will send you an email notification once your postal voting slip has been sent. Has it been several weeks since you got notification and have you still not received your postal voting slip? Or have you lost the postal voting slip? Request a replacement postal voting slip. You can receive the replacement postal voting slip by post or by email.

The request for a replacement postal voting slip must arrive at the municipality by 5 March 2021.

Request a replacement postal voting slip

  1. Make sure you are registered as a Dutch voter abroad.
  2. Complete the form and print it out.

  3. Sign the completed form.
  4. Scan the signed form or make a copy of it.
  5. Make a copy of your valid identity document or take a photo of it.  
  6. Finalise the application by uploading the signed form and the copy of your identity document or by sending both documents by post to the municipality.
    Once you have filled it in the online form, you will receive instructions about how you should upload the form and a link to more information on which documents to send.
  7. Your replacement postal voting slip will be sent to the email or postal address you provided.
To request a replacement postal voting slip you need to be registered as a Dutch voter abroad. And a paper replacement postal voting slip should have been sent to you.
