The marriage booklet is a memento of a beautiful day. It contains a copy of the wedding certificate.

Request a declaration of no impediment
The declaration of no impediment states that you are not currently married and that you and your partner are permitted to get married under Dutch law.

You can use a declaration of unmarried status to prove that you are not married. For example, if you wish to marry abroad.

Request a change in the use of your surname
If your marital status changes, you can choose how you would like to be addressed by government agencies by indicating your surname.
