Report lost or injured animals
Have you found an animal? Depending on what kind of animal it is, you can contact 1 of the animal welfare organisations.
The municipality is legally responsible for taking care of ‘lost pets’ for 14 days. If the owner does not pick up the pet within this period, the municipality then transfers the care of the animal to the animal shelter where it is being kept.
The municipality has made arrangements with different organisations for the transport and care of animals.

The Animal Rescue Service helps animals in distress – whether they are trapped, wounded, sick, deserted or neglected. Transportation is provided day and night – 24 hours a day, 365 days per year – not just in emergencies, but also if an animal has to be transported to the vet or has died.

- examines reports of nuisance by stray cats
- picks up stray cats
- for stray cats which are adopted from the shelter: registration (microchip) and castration or sterilisation
