Donate your unused children’s bikes
The municipality will be collecting as many unused children’s bicycles as possible from 20 April to 30 May 2021. The bicycles will be distributed to families and children in need. Do you have a bicycle you are not using? Donate it.

The Hague to bid to host Tour de France Grand Départ
The Hague and Rotterdam are launching a joint bid to bring the start of the Tour de France in 2024 or 2025 to the Netherlands. If their efforts succeed, the 1st stage of the annual road bicycle race will start in Rotterdam and end in The Hague.

Get a demolition bonus for your diesel car
Polluting diesel cars will no longer be allowed to drive into the downtown area as of 1 July 2021. Have them demolished and get a credit for cleaner transportation.

Koningskade: paving work
The Koningskade will get new asphalt between the Javastraat and the Koningstunnel and between the Koningstunnel and the Zuid Hollandlaan. The work will begin on Monday, 3 May and is expected to last until 28 May 2021.

The Rijswijkseweg will be less accessible from 12 to 23 April 2021 due to roadworks. One lane will be closed and vehicular traffic will have to drive more slowly.

Goeverneurplein: bring your bulky waste on Thursdays
From 25 March to 22 April 2021 there will be a weekly bulky waste collection day on Thursdays on the Goeverneurplein in the Laakkwartier. Drop off your stuff between 16.15 and 18.15 hrs.

TONK applications possible as of 15 March 2021
The Temporary Support for Necessary Costs (TONK) is for people who have suffered a decline in income due to the coronavirus measures. You can apply for the TONK scheme at the municipality as of 15 March 2021.
