Apply for a permit to convert property into multiple apartments
Do you want to convert a property into 2 or more self-contained residences? Then you need both an all-in-one building permit as well as a property conversion permit. The property conversion permit will only be granted in a limited number of areas and under certain conditions.
The renovation will change a ‘large’ self-contained property into several smaller self-contained residences. This will then change the composition of the housing stock in The Hague and a permit may be needed under the Housing Act 2014.

Applying for a permit to convert property into multiple apartments costs € 521.90 in 2023. You will not be reimbursed if the municipality rejects your permit application.
You will hear within 2 to 4 weeks whether you will get the permit.
Only the owner of the property can apply for a permit to convert property into multiple apartments.
