Parking permit for visitors

A parking permit for visitors allows your visitors to park in a paid parking area without having to pay for parking.

You can apply for a parking permit for visitors if you are registered in the Municipality of The Hague. You do not need to own a car to apply for this permit. The visitor's parking permit works on the basis of an hourly parking credit.

Conditions

  • You are registered in the Municipal Personal Records Database (BRP) of The Hague at the address for which you are requesting the visitor's parking permit.
  • You live in an area where paid parking is in effect. View The Hague's paid parking zones on www.mediablend.nl.
  • The visitor's parking permit is not valid on shopping streets during shopping hours.
  • The visitor's parking permit entitles you to a certain number of parking hours per year (parking credit).
  • You can order 1 visitor's parking permit per address.
  • Starting in 2018 it will be possible to carry over any unused hours to the next permit year. You are permitted to carry over a maximum of 50 hours.

Fees

  • The visitor's parking permit costs € 18.60 per permit year (in 2018: € 19) .
  • A different rate applies to the Bloemenbuurt, Laakkwartier-Oost and Vruchtenbuurt. There you pay € 12 per permit year (in 2018: € 12.60).

The start and end date of the permit year can be found under Extend parking permit and depends on the neighbourhood for which you have a permit. The fee can therefore differ from the amounts above.

Are you expecting guests for a longer period of time? You can also apply for a parking permit for your house guests ('long-term parking permit').

Purchasing extra parking hours

Starting in 2018 it will be possible to automatically carry over any unused hours to the new permit year. You are permitted to carry over a maximum of 50 hours.

In the first quarter of 2018 it will become possible to purchase extra hours on the parking permit for visitors. You may purchase an extra 50 hours per permit year. The fee for this is € 75. Permit holders will receive a letter notifying them about the starting date to purchase extra parking hours.
