Voting in the Dutch parliamentary elections on 22 November 2023

General elections will be held in the Netherlands on Wednesday, 22 November 2023. Members of the House of Representatives (Tweede Kamer) will be elected. Dutch citizens living abroad will also be able to vote. They must first be registered with the Municipality of The Hague.

The deadline to register to vote in the Dutch parliamentary elections on 22 November 2023 was 11 October 2023. If you register now, you will no longer be able to vote in the general elections in November. Your voting documents will be sent to you automatically for future Dutch parliamentary elections.

The municipality already sent you your postal voting slip at the end of August. You need this to be able to vote in November. You will receive the ballot for the elections approximately 4 weeks before the day of the election (around 25 October 2023). To be able to cast a vote you need to have a Dutch identity document which is valid on 9 October 2023.
