Elections for the Municipal Council

Municipal elections are held every 4 years. This is the moment when inhabitants of The Hague aged 18 years or older can determine who will become a member of the Municipal Council.

Members of the Municipal Council represent the residents of The Hague. Through your vote you can exert influence over future developments in The Hague. The Municipal Council determines what will happen in our city. It decides how the municipality’s resources will be allocated, for example in the areas of student housing, public transportation, restaurants and bars, sports or safety.

Date of municipal elections

The last municipal elections were held on 21 March 2018. The voter turnout percentage in The Hague was 48.04%.
