Declaration of support (for voters)

The Dutch parliamentary elections will be held on 22 November 2023. You can state your support for the participation of a political party in a declaration of support.

Political parties which do not yet have a seat in the Tweede Kamer (House of Representatives) have to collect at least 30 declarations of support from voters.

When and where

You can make a declaration of support between 25 September and 9 October 2023. You can do this at the election counter at City Hall (Spui 70).

The election counter is open:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8.30 to 17.00 hrs.
  • Thursday from 12.00 to 20.00 hrs.

The election counter will be open one more time for the declarations of support on 11 and 12 October from 8.30 to 17.00 hrs. You will then be able to state your support for a party which previously did not submit enough valid declarations of support.

  • You bring a valid proof of identity.
  • You live in The Hague.
  • You have the right to vote in the Dutch parliamentary elections

How it works

  • Download the Ondersteuningsverklaring (Declaration of support) on the website of the Dutch government.
  • Print it and fill it out. The political party can also give you the completed form.
  • At the election counter a municipal official will check whether you have voting rights for the Dutch parliamentary elections. And whether you live in The Hague.
  • You sign the completed declaration of support form in the presence of the election counter official.
  • You can only make 1 declaration of support for the parliamentary elections. You may not withdraw this declaration of support later.
  • The official will stamp the form.
  • You take the form with you and make sure that the political party gets it.
