The Hague International Centre

The Hague International Centre is the point of contact for international staff of organisations and companies in The Hague, Delft, Leidschendam-Voorburg and Rijswijk. The centre works in close partnership with the municipalities and is located in the Atrium of The Hague City Hall.

The Hague International Centre offers hospitality and a soft landing for international talent by taking care of their formalities and providing services during 4 stages of their stay in The Hague region:

  • orientation before moving to The Hague region
  • settling in
  • living and working
  • leaving as an ambassador for The Hague region

    English-language services

    By offering fast, accessible and combined English-language services, The Hague International Centre provides information and guidance about living and working in The Hague region. You can visit The Hague International Centre for the following services:

    • Information on The Hague and getting around.
    • Formalities such as registration with the municipality (BRP, by appointment only); issuance of a citizen service number (BSN); issuance of a residence and work permit (IND); reporting your move or a change of address; and deregistration when you leave.
    • Information about all kinds of services such as waste and recycling, DigiD, child benefits, a medical statement for converting a foreign driving licence, exchanging a driving licence, parking permits and the 30% ruling.
    • Information on living in the Netherlands, including health care, education and housing.

    Municipal registration

    The Hague International Centre offers registration in the Municipal Personal Records Database (BRP) to the following people and their family members:

    • Highly-skilled migrants
    • Intra Corporate Transferees (ICT)
    • Scientific researchers
    • Privileged persons (diplomats, consular staff and employees of international organisations)
    • European Union citizens
    • Employees of non-governmental organisations
    • Entrepreneurs working for innovative start-ups
    • International graduates on an orientation year permit

        Appointment for municipal registration

        You can make an appointment to register in the Municipal Personal Records Database (BRP) by sending an email to Once you register, you will receive a residence permit (as requested by your employer) and a citizen service number (BSN) on the spot.

        Address and opening hours

        The Hague International Centre is open for general questions Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 17.00 hrs.
