Opening hours and rules for The Hague's swimming pools

Swimming is fun and healthy. During the summer vacation from 17 July to 29 August you can come to The Hague's swimming pools for recreational swimming, lap swimming and family swimming. A reservation is required. Look at the swimming rules and the opening hours on this page.

Online reservation required

An online reservation is required for swimming activities. You can make a reservation online in the sport webshop. You will need an account to do this. Look at the page Reserve swimming activities for more information.

You can make a reservation a maximum of 7 days in advance. Each time slot has space for a maximum number of visitors. The maximum number of visitors can be different at each swimming pool. De Blinkerd, De Houtzagerij and De Waterthor swimming pools are closed for recreational swimming during the summer vacation.

Keep distance in and around the swimming pool

To make sure that everyone can swim safely, the 1.5-metre rule is also in effect in the swimming pool.

  • Children under the age of 13 do not have to keep distance from each other and from adults.
  • Children aged 13 to 17 years do not have to keep distance from each other, but they do have to maintain this distance from adults.
  • Adults always keep a distance of 1.5 metres from people aged 13 years and older.
  • People from the same household do not have to keep distance from each other.

Swimming rules

To make sure everybody can swim safely a number of explicit rules are in effect:

  • Stay home if you have a cold or flu-like symptoms, even mild symptoms, and get tested.
  • Keep a distance of 1.5 metres from others.
  • A reservation, registration and a health check are obligatory.
  • Take your swimming pass or valid ID with you.
  • Make contactless payments or pay with a bank card (with PIN).
  • Follow the walking routes.
  • Always follow the instructions of staff and water safety managers.
  • The cash desk closes 30 minutes earlier than the end of the activity.
  • Use of the lockers is allowed again. Bags are not permitted in the pool hall.
