Zoetermeerse Rijweg: weekend closures

Maintenance work will be carried out on the Zoetermeerse Rijweg. The asphalt between the Donau and the Laan van Leidschenveen is outdated and will be renewed in both directions. To limit any inconvenience to traffic the work will be carried out during 2 weekends.

Phase 1: Work in the direction of Zoetermeer

The work will start at 20.00 hrs. on Friday, 5 June 2020. Work will then be carried out on Friday night as well as during the day on Saturday, 6 June and Sunday, 7 June. If necessary the work will also continue during the night of Saturday, 6 June. The street will reopen at the latest at 6.00 hrs. on Monday, 8 June 2020.

Phase 2: Work in the direction of The Hague (N14)

The work will start at 20.00 hrs. on Friday, 12 June 2020. Work will then be carried out on Friday night as well as during the day on Saturday, 13 June and Sunday, 14 June. If necessary the work will also continue during the night of Saturday, 13 June. The street will reopen at the latest at 6.00 hrs. on Monday, 15 June 2020.

Preparation

During the week of Tuesday, 2 June to Friday, 5 June 2020 work will be carried out on the parking lane just before the roundabout by the Vaz Diasdreef. Vehicular traffic will still be able to drive past the work site at a lower speed. Lorry traffic will be diverted.

Diversions for vehicular traffic

Through traffic will be diverted via the Laan van Leidschenveen and the Donau or the other way around.

During Phase 1 the side street Vaz Diasdreef will not be accessible via the roundabout. Local traffic will be allowed to drive on the cycle path to the Klaas Voskuildreef.

During Phase 2 through traffic from the neighbourhood of De Velden will be diverted via the Oude Middenweg and Pijlkruidveld.

Cyclists

No work will be done on the cycle paths. Cyclists can continue to ride along the work site. The bicycle crossing by the Oude Middenweg will be closed during the project.

HTM night bus

The N6 night bus will not use the Zoetermeerse Rijweg during the roadworks in Phase 1 and will be diverted.

Accessibility and safety

Homes and businesses will always remain accessible to pedestrians during the roadworks. The municipality aims to work as safely as possible. Nevertheless work sites are dangerous places. Instruct children not to play in the area.
