Winning plans announced for Statenkwartier

The municipality has made money available to make the Statenkwartier more beautiful, social, physically active and greener. In September 2019 residents and businesses submitted 35 plans. There were 15 feasible plans. Residents had until Friday, 13 December 2019 to vote for their favourite plan.

A total of 1,970 residents voted. The municipality thanks everybody who sent in plans for their efforts and inspiring ideas. It also thanks everybody who voted.  

Winning plans

The cheques were awarded on Saturday, 21 December during the Statenkwartier Begroot Christmas breakfast in Het Couvéehuis. There were 6 winning plans which together were within the budget of € 30,000:

  • birdhouses
  • insect hotels and wild flowers
  • automated external defibrillator (AED) 
  • architecture app Statenkwartier
  • safe Prins Mauritsplein
  • dine with status holders
  • keep Couvéehuis for the district

Help with your initiative

The municipality would like to help you with your plans for the neighbourhood. It will look whether your idea is feasible and eligible for a subsidy for activities. Read more about this under Apply for subsidy for activities for city district.

Neighbourhood budget for other neighbourhoods

Other neighbourhoods in the Scheveningen district will also get a budget for new initiatives:

  • 1st half of 2020: Noordelijk Scheveningen
  • 2nd half of 2020: Wittebrug-Duttendel
  • 1st half of 2021: Zorgvliet
  • 2nd half of 2021: Duindorp
  • 1st half of 2022: Van Stolkpark

The neighbourhoods of Scheveningen-Dorp and Havenkwartier & Vissenbuurt got a neighbourhood budget in 2018 and Duinoord in 2019.
