Westvlietweg: work on cycle path

On Monday, 18 March 2019 work will start on the cycle path next to the Westvlietweg between Park Nabij and Leidschendam-Voorburg. The existing 2-way cycle path will get new asphalt and the sidewalk next to it will be repaved. The work is expected to last until Friday, 21 June 2019.

The work will be carried out in 2 phases.

Phase 1

Phase 1 will last from Monday, 18 March to Friday, 26 Apri. There will be road work between Park Nabij and the Schrepelpad. Cyclists will temporarily ride in 2 directions on 1 half of the traffic lane of the Westvlietweg (in the direction of Leidschendam-Voorburg) along the work site.

Phase 2

Phase 2 will last from Monday, 29 April to Friday, 21 June. There will be road work between the Schrepelpad and Leidschendam. During this phase cyclists will also ride on the road.

Diversion of through traffic towards Rijswijk

Vehicular traffic driving towards Rijswijk will be diverted via the Noordelijke Verbindingsweg, Donau, Ypenburgse Boslaan, Laan van Hoornwijck, Laan van Zuid Hoorn and the Laan van Vredenoord. This will be indicated by road signs.

During Phase 1 the Wijkerbrug and Schrepelpad will still be accessible for traffic driving towards Leidschendam-Voorburg. The Wijkerbrug will not be accessible to trucks.

During Phase 1 cars will be able to drive from Park Nabij towards Rijswijk as well as towards Leidschendam-Voorburg.

During Phase 2 the Broekweg (in Leidschendam-Voorburg) will still be accessible to cars driving from the Vlietweg/Noordelijke verbindingsweg.
