Waldorpstraat: roadworks

Published: 6 November 2020Modified: 16 November 2020

There will be roadworks in the Waldorpstraat in the autumn of 2020. The speed bumps between the Calandstraat and the XXL Carwash will be lowered and repaved. The parking spaces next to the speed bumps will also be adapted.

What is going to happen?

The Waldorpstraat was redesigned in 2018. During this project 3 speed bumps were placed, between the Calandstraat and Hildebrandplein. These speed bumps will now be lowered so that emergency service vehicles can drive there more easily. The speed bumps will also be repaved. The parking spaces next to the speed bumps will be adapted so that they are equally as high as the speed bumps.

The work is planned for the autumn of 2020 and will take 1 week. Traffic should experience as little inconvenience from the work as possible. This is why work will only be carried out between 9.00 and 16.00 hrs. and not during peak driving times. Paving work is planned as of 20.00 hrs. on 19 November until 6.00 hrs. on 20 November 2020. Paving work can only take place if the weather is good. If the weather is poor, this work will be postponed.

By car:

The road will remain open during nearly all of the project but there could be some delays. The Waldorpstraat will be closed between the Calandstraat and Hildebrandplein while it is being repaved. Only residents will be able to drive to the neighbourhood. Most of the parking spots will remain accessible during the roadworks. The contractor may temporarily need to use a few parking spots as working space. This will be indicated on time so that you are aware of this when parking your car.

Pedestrians and cyclists:

All destinations will remain accessible to pedestrians and cyclists. Emergency service vehicles will always be able to get through during the project.

The work will cause noise during the night. The contractor will do everything to make sure there is as little noise as possible. However, you may still be bothered by it.

The municipality will do everything within its power to ensure safety during the roadworks. Work sites nevertheless remain dangerous spots. You are advised to warn children to stay away from the work site.
