Visit the German bunker and casemate during Bunker Discovery Day

The tours are full, you can no longer sign up. On Saturday, 10 February there will be tours of the German bunker which was excavated in Scheveningen in December 2017. There will be tours throughout the day given by staff of the Atlantikwall Museum Scheveningen foundation and the Museum Engelandvaarders.

Special historical find

During the preparatory phase to renew the Noordboulevard in Scheveningen, a bunker from the Second World War was found in December 2017. The bunker contained various items from that period, such as a German newspaper from 1945, cartridge cases and parts of a German uniform.

Also look at the casematet

In addition to the bunker you can also visit a casemate and part of the underground network. A casemate is a fortified emplacement for artillery, for example a machine gun. The casemate and the underground network are located partially under the current Noordboulevard.

Tours

The tours are full. You can no longer sign up.

The tour begins at the German bunker, close to the Carlton Beach Hotel. After the bunker tour, walk along the fenced-off construction site to the casemate. Staff from the Atlantikwall Museum Scheveningen and the Museum Engelandvaarders will give you more information and a tour of the casemate and the excavated tunnel network.

The tour ends in the information tent on the boulevard by the Scheveningen Pier.
