Utrechtsebaan: closed 2 weekends

The Utrechtsebaan will be closed to traffic 2 weekends in February. The municipality will be working on and around the Utrechtsebaan during the month.
This work will be done in preparation for a new design for the outdoor space around the Grotiusplaats. The municipality will remove the fountains along the Utrechtsebaan by the Grotiusplaats. Two high lampposts will also be removed from the central reserve of the Utrechtsebaan.

Road closures
The Utrechtsebaan will be closed on the weekends of:
- 19, 20, 21 February 2021
- 26, 27, 28 February 2021
The municipality will work non-stop in order to keep the road closed as briefly as possible. The Utrechtsebaan will be closed on the weekends as of 23.00 hrs. on Friday until 5.00 hrs. on Monday.
The Prins Clauslaan will be closed on the weekends as of 20.00 hrs. on Friday until 5.00 hrs. on Monday.
Accessibility
While the work is taking place, the Utrechtsebaan will be closed between Bezuidenhout and the Zuid-Hollandlaan. The Prins Clauslaan will also be closed. Entrance and Exit ramp 2 will remain open to traffic.
- Vehicular traffic can drive to and out of the city via Entrance and Exit ramp 2 and 3
- Vehicular traffic from or to Amsterdam can take a detour via the N44 or N14
- Vehicular traffic from or to Utrecht can take a detour via the N14 or the S108
- Vehicular traffic from or to Rotterdam can take a detour via the N211


- There are no extra closures for cyclists and pedestrians.
- There is already a diversion for cyclists and pedestrians for the construction of the Grotiustorens on the Prins Clauslaan.
- The Theresiastraat will remain accessible during the work.
