The former building of the United States embassy on the Lange Voorhout will temporarily become a platform for cultural expositions, events and tours. A coffee corner will also be created in the building.

While waiting for the building to be sold, the municipality has commissioned ANNA Vastgoed & Cultuur and WEST Den Haag to come up with a temporary programme. Young, creative makers and artists will be offered work space and flexible space for pop-up events such as art expositions, lectures and debates. ANNA and WEST will give extensive weekly tours of the building to highlight its cultural-historical significance.

Museum Quarter

The characteristic building on the Lange Voorhout will get a new purpose in the future. The national monument designed by architect Marcel Breuer is an icon for the reconstruction after the Second World War. The new purpose for the building should fit in and strengthen the profile of the Museum Quarter in The Hague.

In preparation for the sale, more specific details about the conditions for the new function of the building are being worked out. The sale of the building is scheduled for the end of 2019.
