Take the survey on the bad weather measures for dogs on the beach

Published: 3 October 2019Modified: 3 October 2019

Dogs are permitted everywhere on The Hague’s beaches from 1 October to 15 May. The dogs are allowed to run around freely and do not have to be on a leash. There were bad weather measures for dogs on the beach in effect earlier this year. What did you think of these measures?

Bad weather measures for 2019 beach season

Every year from 15 May to 1 October dogs are permitted at fewer spots on the beach. Many dog owners think this is a pity. This is why the municipality experimented last beach season with bad weather measures for dogs on part of the Zuiderstrand. If the maximum temperature was below 18 degrees Celsius, the dogs were allowed on the beach the whole day from beach access point 10 (Duivelandsestraat) and 12 (Zuiderhavenhoofd). The normal rules were in effect when the weather was warmer.

Give your opinion

The municipality is curious about what residents of The Hague think of the experiment with the bad weather measures. Is this experiment worth repeating? Should the municipality stop the bad weather measures or in fact expand the area? Let us know what you think by taking the survey on the website Het Haagse Groen
