Organise a Play Outside Day in your street

Published: 19 February 2019Modified:

Once a year children reclaim the streets in the Netherlands. No cars and cyclists, but instead loads of space to play outside freely. The National Play Outside Day (Buitenspeeldag) will take place during the afternoon of Wednesday, 12 June 2019. Organise an activity and request a free permit by 31 March 2019.

All throughout The Hague streets will be closed off on Wednesday, 12 June 2019, transforming the city into 1 giant play area. The municipality and the organisation Jantje Beton are calling upon parents, guardians, playgrounds, schools, youth clubs, interest organisations and club life to take part.

Request a permit

This year once again you can organise activities during the Play Outside Day. Does a street need to be closed off for the activities? Then you are obliged to apply for a permit and, if needed, to apply for traffic barriers. Request the free permit by 31 March 2019 via Zebra Welzijn. Contact Bianca Albers:
