Olympic Games in Tokyo: follow athletes from The Hague

The OIympic Games will be held in Tokyo from 23 July to 8 August 2021. There are 20 athletes from The Hague who will be taking part. 12 other athletes also stand a chance of taking part. Follow these athletes and their preparations for Tokyo with the team from Den Haag Topsport.

The athletes from The Hague who are taking part in the Olympic Games are:

  • Lilian de Geus and Kiran Badloe (windsurfing)
  • Marit Bouwmeester, Lobke Berkhout, Afrodite Zegers, Annemiek Bekkering, Annette Duetz, Nicholas Heiner, Bart Lambriex and Pim van Vugt (sailing)
  • Tony van Diepen and Khalid Choukoud (athletics)
  • Seve van Ass (hockey)
  • Alexander Brouwer, Robert Meeuwsen, Sanne Keizer and Madelein Meppelink (beach volleyball)
  • Mark Caljouw (badminton)
  • Roos Zwettie and Candy Jacobs (skateboarding)

Athletes can still get placed in the following sports: football, beach volleyball, skateboarding, baseball/softball and athletics.

Meet and greet

Our local athletes will come back to The Hague after the Olympic Games. The Holland Heineken House will be located on Scheveningen beach this year. All athletes will return to the Netherlands after their last competition. They will be honoured at the Olympic Festival. This festival will be held at the same time as the Olympic Games, from 23 July to 8 August 2021. Afterwards they will meet their fan on a sports field or Cruijff Court in the city.
