New coalition presents agreement: ‘The Hague, City of Opportunities and Ambitions’

The new coalition for The Hague, made up of the political parties Hart voor Den Haag/Groep de Mos, VVD, D66 en GroenLinks, on 29 May presented the coalition agreement ‘The Hague, City of Opportunities and Ambitions’.

The 4 parties which together will govern the city have hammered out the plans for the coming 4 years. Their biggest themes for the future of The Hague are: Mobility, Sustainability, Everybody Takes Part and The Growing City. Security will be an important precondition for the programme.

Candidate aldermen

The 4 parties announced their candidate aldermen. They are Richard de Mos and Rachid Guernaoui (Hart voor Den Haag/Groep de Mos), Boudewijn Revis and Kavita Parbhudayal (VVD), Saskia Bruines and Robert van Asten (D66) and Liesbeth van Tongeren and Bert van Alphen (GroenLinks).

Next steps

The Hague Municipal Council will discuss the contents of the coalition agreement on 6 June. After that the agreements will be final. The candidate aldermen and new council members will be sworn in on 7 June. The Municipal Council will then bid an official farewell to the present Municipal Executive.
