Relive ancient times

The archaeological research at the Rotterdamsebaan has resulted in a number of extraordinary finds. You can see quite a few of them during the National Archaeology Days in the Trefpunt. In addition, there will be much more to do:

  • Archaeologists will talk about their research and the stories behind the finds.
  • Step in the virtual world: put on 3D glasses and visit the excavations, dig up finds and walk through a Roman house.
  • Visit the archaeological museum and discover finds from the planned route of the Rotterdamsebaan
  • ‘Antiquities Roadshow’: have your archaeological find appraised and discover the story behind it.
  • Help the archaeologists glue the fragments.
  • See how an excavated skull can lead to a reconstruction of a nun. Learn how to fight like a real Roman soldier or mediaeval knight (only for children).
  • Play Roman gambling and board games (only for children).
  • Have your photo taken with a gladiator (only for children).
  • Draw Roman fragments like an archaeologist (only for children).
