Lozerlaan to get weed-free paving

Published: 11 February 2020Modified:

Starting on Monday, 2 March 2020 the municipality will renew the road surface at the intersections of the Lozerlaan with the Melis Stokelaan, Hengelolaan, Meppelweg and Escamplaan. The work will last until 1 May 2020.

The municipality would like to make the upkeep of the public roads more sustainable. Weed-free road surfaces require less upkeep. The paving stays free of weeds thanks to jointing sand which suppresses the growth of weeds. In addition 5 bicycle crossings will get red paving  instead of bricks. The work will last until 1 May 2020 at the latest.

The work will take place from 9.00 to 15.00 hrs. from Monday to Friday. The traffic lanes will be narrowed in the spots where the work is taking place. After 15.00 hrs. the lane will reopen again to traffic.

Narrowing the road will impact through traffic on the Lozerlaan. Temporary turns will also not be accessible. When this takes place it, signs will indicate a diversion route. Pedestrians, cyclists and public transport will not be affected by the work. The paving work on the cycle path will take place at night. Traffic wardens will then direct cyclists around the work site.

The municipality will do everything within its power to ensure safety during the project. Nevertheless work sites remain dangerous spots. You are advised to warn children about this danger and to keep them away from the work site.

Household waste and company waste

Nothing will change in terms of the collection of household waste and company waste in your street during the project. This also applies to making appointments for the collection of oversized waste.
