The municipality and the ANWB are promoting electric transportation. Electric transportation has a positive effect on the air quality. But does it make sense for you to drive an electric car? The EVscan will let you know. Read how you can request the free scan.

You can use the EVscan to see whether an electric vehicle would be a good option for you based on how you use your car. A telematics device which you install in your current car will monitor and record information from the trips you take. After the 3-month period you will receive a tailor-made report. The report will state whether you would also have been able to take your daily trips with an electric car. You will see, for example, how often you would have needed to charge the battery and how much electric transportation would have cost you.

  • The EVscan is available for free to all residents and companies in The Hague.
  • You do not have to be a member of the ANWB and you do not have to become a member.
  • Your car must be suitable for the telematics device. When you apply for the EVscan you can check this by filling in your number plate. You will right away see if you can use it in your car.

You can now apply for the EVscan at Make sure you are on time: there are 1,000 free EVscans available. You can find more information on the website of the ANWB about how the telematics device works and answers to other questions, such as how your data will be used.

Subscription to the telematics device

The telematics device comes with a free app. You can use it to see how economically you drive as well as an overview of all of your trips. The app will also notify you if there are technical malfunctions in your car. By using the EVscan you get a subscription at the ANWB which allows you to use the telematics device for 1 year for free.
