Published: 14 May 2020Modified: 22 May 2020

Residents of The Hague with a swimming certificate can swim laps again. To ensure that everybody can swim safely, explicit rules are in effect. For example, you must sign up in advance. You cannot call more than 1 day ahead of time.

Swimming activities for other groups of people will start up at a later date.

Registration is required

Only children and adults with a swimming certificate are now allowed to swim laps. To prevent it from becoming too busy in the swimming pool, you are required to sign up in advance. You cannot register earlier than 1 day in advance. Call the Sport-info-line on tel. (070) 353 72 72. This telephone number is available on weekdays between 8.30 and 16.30 hrs. and in the weekend between 10.00 and 16.00 hrs. When you register you need to indicate the time block you would like to come and swim.

Select time block

You can sign up for 1 time block. You will be allowed to swim a maximum of 1 hour during this block. A maximum number of swimmers will be permitted per time block. The number is different for each swimming pool.

The current opening hours can be seen on the Dutch website.

Swimming activities in June

The municipality and The Hague’s swimming clubs will examine how residents of The Hague will be able to swim safely in the swimming pools again. A tailored solution will be needed for each swimming pool and for each group of people using the pools. Safety and health will always be given priority. The municipality expects swimming lessons and school swimming to be able to start again in June. Go to Swimming and swimming pools for more information.
