Give your opinion on home collection of GFT in Ypenburg

Published: 9 May 2019Modified: 22 May 2019

Do you live in De Venen, Morgenweide, Singels or Waterbuurt? And would you like to have your organic waste (GFT) collected at your home? Show your interest by 15 May.

The municipality will stop collecting organic waste from underground containers in Ypenburg. Unfortunately a lot of other waste was being thrown into these containers. This resulted in the organic waste being too polluted for recycling purposes. The municipality is now looking for other ways to collect this waste in your neighbourhood.

Your opinion is wanted

Would you like to have your organic waste collected at your home? You can let the municipality know by 15 May 2019 at the latest whether you would be interested in getting a GFT container (kliko) or GFT bucket. Your organic waste will be collected once every 2 weeks at your home. If more than half of the residents in your neighbourhood are interested, the municipality can organise it for your neighbourhood. You can show your interest by sending an email to afvalenschoon@denhaag.nl or contact the municipality.

Separating waste

Coffee grounds, apple peels, spent tulips: a large part of our waste is organic waste, like food and garden waste. It is good to separate your organic waste from regular household waste. Separately collected organic waste is turned into compost to enrich the soil in parks and gardens.
