GGD Haaglanden to test school and childcare staff as of 6 May

Published: 6 May 2020Modified:

As of 6 May The Hague’s Public Health Department (GGD Haaglanden) will start testing for the coronavirus among staff primary schools, including special primary schools, and childcare providers.

School and childcare staff who have mild cold-like symptoms of the coronavirus and who live and/or work in the Haaglanden region can be tested by GGD employees. They first need a referral from a company or occupational health service doctor.

Test site

The test site is in the parking garage of the Van der Valk Hotel in Pijnacker-Nootdorp. The staff member must be alone and come by car and show a valid ID upon arrival. The test site is open 7 days a week and can be visited by appointment only.

Registration and testing

All primary schools, childcare centres, host parents and drivers working for special ed schools whose staff is eligible for the test received a letter from the GGD. Staff with health issues can report to their company doctor. The doctor will apply for a test for the staff member at the GGD. The staff member will get an appointment from the GGD. Until the staff members gets the results of the test it is important that he/she stays home and does not come into contact with other people (keep a distance of 1.5 metres, also at home).

If the school or childcare centre does not have a company doctor, contact a doctor from GGD Haaglanden on tel. (088) 355 01 00 or send an email to coronatest@ggdhaaglanden.nl.
