Erasmusweg: more roadworks

Published: 13 May 2020Modified: 15 May 2020

Between Monday, 25 May and Friday, 3 July 2020 the Erasmusweg will be fixed up between the Loevesteinlaan and the Lozerlaan. To prevent dangerous situations, this project cannot wait until the large-scale maintenance project planned in a couple of years.

What is going to happen?

  • From 25 May to 26 June 2020 the rainwater systems will be replaced on the east side of the Loevesteinlaan to the Lozerlaan. The cycle path will be dug op at several spots. The entire cycle path will be repaired at a later moment.
  • From 22 June to 3 July 2020 the cover layer of the asphalt will be replaced between the Vrederustlaan and the Beresteinlaan. Damage to the sides of the asphalt was repaired earlier.

    Diversion

The Erasmusweg will be closed to vehicular traffic while it is being paved:

    • Erasmusweg closed (direction city centre): From 22 to 26 June 2020 between the Beresteinlaan and the Vrederustlaan in towards the city centre.
    • Erasmusweg closed (direction Poeldijk): From 29 June to 3 July 2020 between the Vrederustlaan and the Beresteinlaan in the direction of Poeldijk. Cars will be diverted along the Loevesteinlaan, Meppelweg and Lozerlaan.

      Accessibility and safety

During the roadworks homes and business will always remain accessible to emergency services and pedestrians. The municipality will do everything within its power to ensure safety during the project. Nevertheless work sites remain dangerous spots. You are advised to warn children about this danger and to keep them away from the work site.

      Parking

Residents will not be able to park easily on the Erasmusweg during the project. Do you have a disabled parking space? The municipality will make sure you have a temporary substitute parking space (assigned to your number plate) which you can easily get to.

      Household waste and oversized waste

Signs will indicate where residents can dispose of their household waste. Residents can also dispose of their oversized waste at this spot. Look at the rules for the collection of oversized waste and garden waste.

      New design of Erasmusweg

The municipality is working on plans for a new design of the Erasmusweg between the Loevesteinlaan and Beresteinlaan. This portion of the Erasmusweg will be changed after 2022.
