The police unit in The Hague is planning to move from its current building on the Burgemeester Patijnlaan to a new building in the Binckhorst in 2023. The new building will be constructed between the Supernovaweg, Wegastraat and Pegasusstraat. A preliminary draft design has been released.

In 2018 the municipality and the police agreed to investigate the possibilities of constructing a new building in the Binckhorst. These agreements were stipulated in a document, which was approved by The Hague Municipal Executive in April 2019. The plans will now be developed within the framework of the zoning plan for Binckhorst.

Architectural firm chosen

The architectural firm Cepezed was chosen to design the building, following a selection process which began in 2018. The Delft-based firm has now created a draft design for the new headquarters. The architectural firm will now develop the sketches together with the municipality and different police departments in The Hague. A final design needs to be ready in the spring of 2020.
