Bezuidenhout Midden Oost Begroot: winning plans announced

The municipality has made funds available to make Bezuidenhout Midden Oost more beautiful, social and greener: the neighbourhood budget. The winners of Bezuidenhout Midden Oost Begroot received a cheque on Friday, 10 July 2020.

In March and April 2020 residents and businesses submitted 55 plans. There were 11 feasible plans. Residents had until 3 July 2020 to vote on their favourtie plans. A total of 2,983 residents voted, representing nearly 23% of the neighbourhood.

Winning plans

On 10 July 2020 the cheques were presented to the winners of Bezuidenhout Midden Oost Begroot. There are 6 winning plans which together fall within the budget of € 40,000. They are:

  • Organising a contest to solve the bike parking problem
  • Redesigning electric charging posts (E-hagenaar) so they can be placed in more spots in the neighbourhood in the future
  • Planting fruit trees to create more sense of community and more vegetation on the streets
  • Developing the liveability effect report
  • Constructing 4 public drinking water taps
  • A bicycle parking facility in the Theresiastraat
