The Hague will celebrate the city’s diversity during Wereldreis door eigen stad (Around the World in a Day) on Saturday, 18 March 2023. There will be all kinds of different activities. Diversity means a mix of different people with other backgrounds and lifestyles.

During Wereldreis door eigen stad residents of The Hague can meet new people in their city, strike up conversations and learn about each other. It will be a day filled with curiosity, encounters and most of all fun. There is no cost to take part.

Where and what time?

You can take part in Wereldreis door eigen stad in various ways. The programme is from 12.00 to 17.00 hrs. You can visit various places and organisations in and around the city centre. There is also a lot going on in Amare.

Activities

Some 30 local organisations will organise a programme full of activities. From tours, workshops, expositions and performances to a city walk. You can also take a peek inside a mosque, temple or museum.

  • Chelsy Valentina, the first Young Poet of The Hague, will open the programme. She will recite the poem she specially wrote for Wereldreis door de stad.
  • Performance by The Residents City Orchestra, made up of primary school children in The Hague.
  • Denhaagmeldt, The Hague’s hotline to report discrimination, will give you the chance to stand in someone’s shoes. Discrimination can affect everybody. Experience it yourself with a virtual reality headset.
