Home care

Home care (thuiszorg) is for people who need assistance, (nursing) care or support at home. Many employees who provide home care speak another language in addition to Dutch.

Home care means that people receive care or nursing at home. The service is meant for the elderly, people with a disability and women who have just given birth (kraamzorg). Home care also comprises nutritional and dietary advice.

The nursing staff and caregivers who provide home care will help with wound treatment, bathing, use of medication and medical aids. A number of the nursing staff are specialised in the treatment of certain illnesses such as diabetes, asthma, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis and neurological problems.

At the Thuiszorgwinkel you can borrow home care medical equipment such as adjustable bed risers, wheelchairs and walking frames.
