‘Jewish History' boat tour

The Hague Boat will organise the Jewish History Tour, an English-language boat tour, on Saturday, 4 May.

Join The Hague Boat tour and learn all about The Hague's Jewish history from your guide Jacqueline Alders.

The first Jews who settled in The Hague in the 17th century were Portuguese Jews. They worked in the diplomatic service and held prominent positions as doctors or merchants. A few centuries later the German occupation starting in May 1940 had a major impact on Jewish life in the city.

The boat tour passes a number of important spots important to the city's Jewish past.

The trip is organised as part of The Hague Freedom Weeks from 12 April to 10 May in the run-up to the Liberation Festival on 5 May.
