Christmas at the Hof van Wouw

The 17th-century private almshouse the Hof van Wouw will open its doors to the public for a special Christmas programme on Saturday, 14 December.

Experience the atmosphere of a bygone era. The almshouse will be specially decorated to evoke that wonderful Christmas spirit. The 17th century courtyard and garden, which are lovely at any time, are particularly special when beautifully lit and decorated for the Christmas season. Dressed in Dickens style, choirs will sing carols and maybe you can even join in.

You can purchase refreshments like hot chocolate, mulled wine, homemade soup, coffee and tea. You also have a chance to buy the 'Hof-made' preserves and chutneys made from the harvest of the Garden of the Hesperides (Tuin der Hesperiden).

As the activities take place outdoors, you are advised to dress warmly and to take an umbrella.
