Bureau City Branding coordinates the city marketing policy of the Municipality of The Hague.

What does Bureau City Branding do?

Bureau City Branding coordinates the implementation of The Hague Branding 2020 project. The plan was approved by The Hague Municipal Council in December 2015 and is being carried out in close collaboration with partners in the city.

The ‘Brand The Hague’ plays a central role in this approach. The 2 key elements are:

  • International City of Peace and Justice
  • City by the Sea

The bureau is headed by City Branding manager Ernst van den Berg.

Brand The Hague

The Hague’s city marketing policy is focused on promoting and strengthening elements of the Brand The Hague. The goal is to make the city more attractive and to make people, businesses and organisations choose The Hague as a travel destination or as a business or residential location. This helps to stimulate the local economy as well as job creation.

City marketing is not a municipal campaign. It is a joint partnership between stakeholders in the city, residents, entrepreneurs, companies and institutions (which benefit by attracting certain target groups). Bureau City Branding plays a coordinating role by participating, stimulating and facilitating.

Brand Book The Hague

The online Brand Book The Hague was developed to describe all of the city’s distinguishing characteristics. This brand book contains:

  • articles
  • photos
  • films
  • facts and figures
  • illustrations 

All of these materials can be downloaded from the website free of royalties and tailor-made for specific target groups.

An important partner of Bureau City Branding is The Hague & Partners. The Hague & Partners is the umbrella organisation for the marketing and promotion of the city of The Hague in order to attract more (inter)national visitors, conferences and companies/organisations to the city.
