Procedures for EU/EEA citizens

If you are a citizen of the European Union (EU), EEA (European Economic Area) or Switzerland and if you are living in The Hague, you need to register in the Municipal Personal Records Database (BRP, formerly the GBA) of The Hague.

If you are working for a company or organisation participating in the highly-skilled migrants scheme (expatservice@denhaag.nl).

Otherwise you need to make an appointment at the municipality by phoning tel. 14 070 (from abroad: +31 70 353 30 00). You can only make an appointment at the municipality in The Hague if you reside in The Hague. If you live in one of the surrounding municipalities, for example Voorburg or Rijswijk, you need to contact your own municipality.

BSN

You will be registered in the Municipal Personal Records Database (BRP) during your appointment. You will also receive a citizen service number (BSN).
