Soundwalks
Self-guided tours of The Hague
Published: 29 April 2010 Modified: 09 August 2011
Soundwalks are 90-minute audio tours set in the city of The Hague. They offer a fun excursion into a local neighbourhood by combining food, culture and healthy exercise. After installing the Soundwalks on your iPod or iPhone, you are ready to get walking.
The young talented narrators use their voices and cinematographic effects to show you around their neighbourhood. On your way you'll get to know the local neighbourhood better with refreshing and delicious stops at cafes, shops and bakeries along the route.
The different Soundwalks were co-produced by PopFactory and high school students from the Haags Montessori Lyceum in 2009 as part of the municipality’s Haagse Brug project (The Hague Bridge). They are geared especially to foreign residents and visitors
The Soundwalks can be downloaded for iPod users or as audio files for other media players.
Hiring an iPod
You can also hire an iPod Nano in combination with a scooter or bicycle at the Rijwielshop Den Haag (Bike Rental Shop) at The Hague’s Central Station. You’ll also receive a discount card which will allow you to buy food and snacks for only € 1 at participating stores.
The first productions feature the Culinary Route and Royal Tour in the Haagse Hout district, where your personal guides Sarah, Basiel and Blaise show you around great spots and explain the historical facts about this beautiful green part of the city.
