Green cabs in The Hague
Published: 17 June 2011 Modified: 25 September 2012
The gCab is the new 'green' taxi in The Hague. It is a fully electric vehicle, which is clean and virtually silent in use.
Eight gCabs operate in the centre of The Hague and in Scheveningen. The gCab is clean and silent, making it ideal for short trips or sightseeing tours.
Ordering a taxi
There is a flat fare of just € 5 between any two points in the city centre within 2 kilometres. You can hail an unoccupied gCab on the street, or call tel. 088 012 10 00 and they will come to you.
You can also arrange a 1-hour guided tour of The Hague, taking in all the major attractions, for just € 50 for two people. The 'Royal Tour' passes the palaces and historic government buildings, while the 'Green Tour' shows you the parks and grand estates of the city. You can also create your own itinerary if you wish.
For further information or to make a reservation, please call 088 012 10 00 or contact gCab by e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.

Green taxi stand
In June 2011 the country's first green taxi stand was opened by the NH Hotel Den Haag in the Beatrixkwartier (Bezuidenhout). The electric car charging station is located by the hotel's entrance. The gCabs are meant for hotel guests as well as for people working at or visiting the office buildings in the area.
A green taxi stand is also located at the Malieveld parking garage. More green taxi stands are planned for The Hague in the future.
