Kustzeilvereniging Scheveningen (KZVS)

The Kustzeilvereniging Scheveningen (Coastal Sailing Association Scheveningen) was founded in 1966 and has about 300 members. If you’re planning to go coastal sailing, you can rent a sailboat here.

With surf sailing you sail from the beach through the surf until about 1 mile out at sea. This kind of sport has not been around very long in the Netherlands. It started out with a single chine hull but soon the first catamaran (Swift) arrived from England. The catamaran quickly appeared better suited for surf sailing than its predecessor, which constantly filled with water and easily overturned in the surf.

During the summer there are about 100 boats standing in the parking area. The clubhouse has space for sails, masts, chests etc. Members also have use of the clubhouse bar.
