Scheveningen Beach is again open for business this summer. The first kilometre of the new Scheveningen Boulevard between the Scheveningseslag and the terminus loop for Tram 11 is now ready.
The new boulevard project has entered a new phase between the terminus loop for Tram 11 and the Vissershavenweg. The consequence is that more than 500 metres of the old boulevard will be fenced off this season.
The Municipality of The Hague will try to limit any inconvenience to visitors, residents and beach pavilion owners as much as possible, providing extra signposting where needed. For pedestrians, a temporary beach boulevard has been constructed around the work site between the Vissershavenweg and the terminus loop for Tram 11. The work site does not extend all the way to the shoreline so the sea will remain accessibile.

Visitors to Scheveningen beach can park their car on the boulevard next to the harbour (Noorderlijk Havenhoofd car park) or in one of the many multi-storey car parks in Scheveningen. Starting on 1 June motorists can again drive on the Strandweg parallel to the boulevard from the Scheveningseslag to the car park. The Strandweg has become a one-way street with traffic moving in the direction of the harbour.
Scheveningen is easily accessible by public transport. From the Hollands Spoor train station and Central Station, you can switch to the following tram and bus lines:
Fancy travelling fast and cheaply to the Scheveningen beach on a summery Sunday? Avoid queues and car park charges by leaving your car at the P+R (‘Park & Ride’) Hoornwijck. From there, you can travel cheaply on the Beach Express (Strand Express) to Scheveningen beach.
On Sundays during the beach season, the Beach Express tram runs every 10 minutes from P+R Hoornwijck to Scheveningen. The travel time is around 30 minutes. The cost of parking and a tram ticket is just € 2 and is valid for a maximum of 4 people. The Beach Express runs on Sundays from 27 May (also 28 May) to 16 September.

Naturally you can still ride your bike to the boulevard and park your bike in the Biesieklette lock-up on the new boulevard by the Seinpostduin next to the footbridge.
