Jet ski rentals and banana boat trips are now available at Fun & Fantasy in Scheveningen Harbour.
Since 1997 Jet Skis have been prohibited within 150 metres from the low tide shoreline between 15 May and 15 September. In the past, there had been accidents where swimmers got hit by the Jet Skis.
However, Fun & Fantasy has managed to get a license to operate its Jet Skis and banana boats out at sea. The popular recreational banana boats have been known for years in France and Spain, but they're now here for the first time in Scheveningen.
Fun & Fantasy drives out to sea and anchors in the safety zone where it is allowed to operate. Jet Skis are equipped with a security system which causes the engine to shut down if they leave the safety zone and get too close to the shore.
No boating license is required for the safety zone. This zone is bordered by buoys and located 1,000 metres from the beach between the lighthouse and the Keizerstraat in Scheveningen. A boat transfers customers back and forth between the safety zone and the harbour.
The company’s offices are based in the Scheveningen harbour near the lighthouse. Their pontoon is also here. They have a terrace and showers.
