To ensure that the voice of The Hague is heard in Europe, The Hague is a member of different network organisations which play a prominent role in influencing European policy.

EUROCITIES
An organisation of more than 120 large European cities which have been working together for more than 20 years. This organisation provides a platform for sharing knowledge and experience on concerted urban problems. But it also provides a lobby to the European Commission and Parliament on subjects such as the environment, economic development, the knowledge society and security. The Hague plays a prominent role in the executive committee, the environment forum and the knowledge society forum – Telecities.

Major Cities of Europe
One of the oldest Information Technology (IT) networks. The organisation deals with problems related to information technology on a local level, such as how local authorities can provide IT services to their residents.

Committee of the Regions
A political organisation which is a liaison organisation to the European Union. The organisation has an advisory role on European policy that affects the local authorities.

Council of European Municipalities and Regions
The largest organisation of local and regional government in Europe. Mayor Wim Deetman of The Hague serves as the first vice-president of this organisation. The activities extend to the following policy fields: regional policy, transport, governance, equal opportunities and the environment.
