Have you always wanted to know what the judges are working on at the International Court of Justice in the Peace Palace? Or visit the courtroom where Slobodan Milošević and Ratko Mladić were being tried at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia? Or have you wondered how the world is enforcing the prohibition on chemical weapons?
You can learn this and more on Sunday, 18 September when 12 international organisations and embassies open their doors to the public for one day only.
On Sunday, 18 September The Hague International Day will take place for the fourth time. You will be able to visit the participating international organisations which will open their doors from 11.00 to 17.00 hrs. On this day The Hague will provide a glimpse behind the scenes of the International City of Peace and Justice. It will also be possible to visit two embassies.
In order to visit the international organisations, you will need to register your participation by 17 September. A number of organisations can admit only a limited number of visitors on this day.
Bear in mind that a number of organisations have tight security and will check all visitors. Please take the time to read all the practical information, particularly the Do's and Don'ts or you may not be allowed inside.
