Top-class sport during your studies

If you take part in top-level sports and you’re studying or about to study in The Hague, you can take advantage of the city's facilities for top-class athletes.

Combining your education with top-level competitive sports calls for making a lot of arrangements. The Hague supports you in this by providing a number of facilities such as the Regio Steunpunt Talent en Topsport (Regional Advisory Centre for Talent and Top-Class Sport), Huis voor de Topsporter (a hostel for top-class athletes) and universities of applied sciences with special programmes for top athletes.

Your academic education

A number of The Hague's universities of applied sciences have special programmes for students who want to combine their education with top-class sports. Regio Steunpunt Talent en Topsport

The Regio Steunpunt Talent en Topsport provides counselling and support for top-class athletes and new talent in The Hague. This advisory centre has built up an extensive network of facilities and service providers which can provide you with assistance, guidance and advice.

Athletes can register at the advisory centre as well. An intake interview will determine if you fulfil the criteria. For more information go to the website of Regio Steunpunt Talent en Topsport.

Huis voor de Topsporter

The Huis voor de Topsporter is a student dormitory especially for top-class athletes. The dormitory opened its doors in 2008 and can house up to 12 top-class athletes.

The Huis voor de Topsporter is a collaborative project between the Watersportverbond, the Dutch Volleyball Federation (Nevobo), Den Haag Marketing (Regional Advisory Centre) and the student housing corporation DUWO. The dormitory is located on the Statenlaan in the Statenkwartier neighbourhood, within walking distance to the harbour.
