The Municipality of The Hague is pleased with the fact that filmmaker and photographer Anton Corbijn won the Prins Bernhard Cultuurprijs last week. During the awards ceremony, Corbijn announced that he would use € 75,000 of his prize money to create the Haagsche Bluf Fund.
The fund will give financial support to projects which stimulate and promote the artistic climate in The Hague.
Deputy Mayor Marjolein de Jong (Culture, City Centre and International Affairs) announced that she would match Corbijn’s € 75,000 with an equal amount. ‘I hope that other financial backers, companies and private individuals will follow this example and give money towards the fund. Initiatives like the Haagsche Bluf Fund contribute towards ensuring the city’s artistic climate in the future.’
