Are you coming from abroad to live in The Hague and have you been registered in the Netherlands before? Or have you deregistered from the GBA in the past? Then you have to register at the Immigration Office.

What is it?

Are you coming from abroad to live in The Hague and have you been registered in the Netherlands before? Or have you deregistered from the Municipal Personal Records Database (GBA) in the past? Then you must register at the Immigration Office of The Hague. This is required by law.

What are the conditions?

  • You have been registered in the Netherlands before.
  • You will be staying in The Hague for longer than 4 months.

For whom is it intended?

Dutch citizens coming from abroad. This also applies to Dutch citizens from the Caribbean Netherlands (the countries Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten and the special municipalities Bonaire, Saba and Sint Eustatius).

What will I need?

  • Valid proof of identity. Please note: A driving licence will not be accepted as valid identification.
  • Proof of Occupancy.
  • If you're coming from the Caribbean Netherlands, take along an original proof of deregistration.

The municipality will verify the authenticity of your identity documents.

How much will it cost?

This service is provided free of charge.

How long will it take?

Your GBA registration will be processed within 4 weeks.

How do I apply/What do I need to do?

To register, visit the Immigration Office at Stadhoudersplantsoen 24 in person. The opening hours are 8.00 to 14.00 hrs. Monday to Friday. Do your family members need to register, too? Then they need to come along as well.
